Bellagio and the Gardens of Villa Melzi

Bellagio, the Pearl of Lake Como, is a must for those who visit the lake for the first time. Lose yourself in the characteristic alleys of the village and let yourself be overwhelmed by the breathtaking view that you can admire from Punta Spartivento is a stunning experience. A short distance away you can reach the entrance to the Gardens of Villa Melzi, in neoclassical style with lush gardens dating back to the early 1800s. The park, one of the most beautiful in Italy, contains a wonderful botanical path dotted with ancient trees, exotic plants, and rare flowers. The visit includes the chapel, the small museum, and the park where beautiful groups of azaleas and rhododendrons frame magnificent statues.

Villa Del Balbianello And Villa Carlotta

Villa del Balbianello, famous for being the set of Star Wars and 007 movies; Villa Carlotta, known for the wonderful botanical garden that surrounds it and the breathtaking view of Bellagio.
These Villas are some of the most majestic on the lake and evoke unique emotions. The best time to visit them is during the spring flowering of rhododendrons and azaleas; the gardens offer flowers in every season with inebriating colours and scents.

Hiking Off The Beaten Path

Take Via Regia to Palanzo, then the path with two tracks to Bocchetta Palanzo. Reach the top of Monte Palanzone for a breathtaking panorama at 1433 meters above sea level. Explore the area by taking the funicular to Brunate and following Via Regia, an ancient Roman road from Como to Bellagio. Head towards Montepiatto and then Bocchetta di Lemna for a day surrounded by nature. Follow the Greenway If you are looking for a leisurely walk surrounded by natural beauty. Arriving at Isola Comacina by boat or ferry, then cross the villages of Ossuccio, Lenno, Mezzegra, Tremezzo, and Griante, all connected by the ancient Via Regina. This walk is suitable for everyone and offers stunning scenic views of the western shore of Lake Como.

Small and pleasant to visit by foot, Como boasts a fascinating architectural structure, full of ancient buildings, small squares teeming with life, lakefront boulevards where you can stroll in peace, but also unmissable tourist attractions and many boutiques for shopping. From Piazza Cavour, the beating heart of the city, proceed towards the characteristic medieval alleys to reach Piazza San Fedele and Piazza Volta, among prestigious shops and boutiques; then, head towards the lake and walking along Lungo Lario Trento, the walk offers a beautiful view of the Lario, Brunate at the top of the hill, and its funicular. The walk continues west to Villa Olmo, east to Villa Geno. Do not miss the Duomo, Porta Torre and the medieval walls.
