Domus Plinii - since 1792
The construction of the building on the suggestive Lake Como shores dates back to far 1792. The original unit comprehended the main body called Albergo Plinio and an accessory unit for carriage sheltering, enclosed on three sides by a formal Italian garden.
The Architecture
The prestigious Milanese architect Caccia Dominioni restructured the complex in the mid-1980s; the property entrusted him with the direction of works to convert the Hotel into a residential complex. The property renovation included the restoration of the historic facade overlooking the Lake, maintaining the stone ornaments of balconies, and the entrance dated 1792. At the beginning of 2018, a team of Milanese architects completely reinvented the 12 Suites; among them the ex-vice director of Vogue Italia. The restoration works included the total remake of the Suites: bathrooms, kitchens, walls, paints, wallpapers, and furniture.
Today
Now Domus Plinii preserves 11 Suites, a Lounge Bar, a swimming pool, a private courtyard with 14 parking spots, all surrounded by a fenced-in park extending over 1,000 square meters. Centuries-old trees and hedges enclose, with their geometrical peculiarity, romantic garden paths in stone.
